Nearshore
Staffing.
Bogotá & Medellín.

Same time zone as the U.S. Same engineering standards as our Dallas HQ. The cost flexibility of offshore. Our own offices in Bogotá and Medellín. We don't outsource.

Plain English

What is
Nearshore Staffing?

Nearshore staffing is technical talent placed from our offices in Latin America who operate on the same business hours as your U.S. Teams. Tech Critic runs owned offices in Bogotá and Medellín, Colombia, staffed by senior engineers, designers, PMs, and analysts who pair with onshore teams for daily standups, real-time collaboration, and the cost flexibility of nearshore economics.

What's Included

Why Bogotá & Medellín

Same Working Hours

Colombia is on U.S. Eastern Time (±1 hour seasonally). Full overlap with U.S. Teams for daily standups and pair sessions.

Strong English

Our nearshore engineers are screened for C1/C2 English fluency. Written and spoken. They can present to your stakeholders, not just code.

Engineering Density

Bogotá and Medellín are top-3 engineering talent hubs in LATAM. Strong CS programs, active tech communities, and a mature freelance/contract market we recruit ahead of.

Agile Native

Our engineers came up on agile and DevOps. They run sprints, write tests, and contribute to PRs the same way your U.S. Team does.

U.S. Holidays + Few Local

Coverage that respects U.S. Business calendar. We hold to U.S. Holidays for major client commitments.

Visa & Travel Friendly

Colombian engineers travel easily on tourist visas for on-site work. We've sent teams to U.S. Clients for kickoffs and quarterly business reviews.

How We Engage

Our
Approach

  1. Brief

Tell us the role, the seniority, the stack, and the team you'll be working with. We respond with a shortlist in 5 to 10 business days.

  2. Shortlist

3 to 5 vetted candidates with portfolios, English-screen recordings, and references. You interview directly. You choose.

  3. Onboard

Pair lead picks up infra access, repo permissions, and process docs. First standup with your team within 5 days of contract sign.

  4. Operate

Daily standups. PRs reviewed by your team. Slack and email like any other contributor. Monthly business review with us.

Who This Is For

You'll Recognize
Yourself Here

1

Cost-sensitive scale

Same standards as onshore, ~30 to 45% lower fully-loaded cost.

2

Engineering teams with timezone pain

You tried offshore and the 12-hour gap broke async. Nearshore restores live collaboration.

3

Startups out of runway for hiring

Series A/B teams who need senior engineers without 6-month searches.

4

Enterprise overflow

Your in-house team is great but capacity-bound. Nearshore augments without competing for your hiring pipeline.

5

Regulated industries (with caveats)

Financial services, healthcare, insurance. We can support U.S. Data residency with the right architecture.

6

Spanish-language market expansion

Bonus: native-Spanish engineering and design talent if you're entering LATAM markets.

Partner of Choice

Why Tech Critic

Senior consultants, not pyramid staffing

Every engagement is led by a partner-grade consultant. No 'sold by the partner, delivered by an associate' bait-and-switch.

Fixed-scope, milestone-based

Written estimates before any work begins. Most engagements are priced by deliverable, not by the hour.

Vendor-neutral

No partner kickbacks, no software resale incentives. We recommend what's right, not what pays.

We own the outcome

From discovery through delivery through 90-day post-launch tune-up. We don't disappear after kickoff.

Five offices, one standard

Dallas HQ, Bogotá and Medellín for LATAM nearshore, plus Lahore and Dubai. Every office is ours. We don't outsource.

Cross-disciplinary by design

Most engagements pull from multiple practices, data, change, software, strategy. One firm, no integration tax.

You've Got Q's
We've Got A's

Don't see your question? Just ask.

Are these your employees or contractors?

All of our Colombia-based talent are direct employees of Tech Critic. We don't sub-contract, we don't go through a body shop, we don't bring in independents. That's why we can guarantee standards.

What's the cost difference vs onshore?

Typically 30 to 45% lower fully-loaded cost compared to U.S.-based senior engineers. The savings come from the lower cost of living in Bogotá/Medellín, not from cutting corners on talent quality.

Do you handle the legal and payroll side?

Yes. We're the employer of record. You contract with Tech Critic; we handle the Colombia-side legal, payroll, benefits, and compliance. You get a single U.S. Invoice.

Will the engineers travel to our office?

Yes, for kickoffs, major releases, or quarterly business reviews. Colombian engineers travel easily on U.S. Tourist visas. Travel costs are pass-through.

Can we hire them direct after a project?

Yes, conversion fees apply, typically 25% of annual salary after the 6-month minimum. Many engineers convert to direct hire after a successful project.
